I am proud of my ignorance too and it's not due to any of the reasons you mentioned. I grew up always being told what to do and I hated it. I developed a great aversion to "being told off" or corrected in any way. Being contradicted greatly offends me. I dare to hold a view or believe a fact that is wrong. I would rather believe an untruth than to be contradicted. I'm simply not interested in the truth, I'm only interested in my own perception of reality.
