This very much reminds me of the quote attributed to Stalin:
"One death is a tragedy; one million is a statistic"

I find solace that while many fellow citizens do not invest much time in educating themselves, a few insights have gained recognition through often famous (or infamous) quotes and little nuggets of advice.
