Ok, so, Harry-Present puts Cloak-Past in Harry-Past's pouch, and pulls Cloak-Present out of his (Harry-Present's) pouch.
Upon reading that part of the text, I had the revelation that Harry-Present could have, first pulled Cloak-Present out of his poach, then put Cloak-Past into Harry-Past's pouch. Performing one action that could not occur, if the second action wasn't guaranteed to occur.
After writing this comment, and having thought more about this revelation, it feels plain, non-revelatory. In the second case, Cloak-Present was already in his pouch, before he did anything to put it there, it wouldn't have been popped into existence when the first action was decided.
