The idea of "topic is not the content" is not new to me, but described simply and beautifully here, thank you.
Unfortunately, the content of a particular job in job postings and on the internet in general is often described too abstractly. And I really don't know of any good sources where this could be learned.
Focusing on the job topic here seems like the easier and more familiar way, though not the best way, of course.
Apart from anything else, it seems to me that lowering your own expectations of the job (especially the first three in your life) can help avoid being disappointed by it, no matter the subject or content. It doesn't have to make you sick every damn day, but it'll probably be harder and more boring than reading about a subject you love and that's okay.
