When someone’s speaking to you, try to listen to the sounds they’re making without translating them into words - it’s impossible. Visual processing is similar - try looking around without instantly classifying what you see into objects like chair, window, pillow, etc. In my peak clarity, I’m amazed at how bizarre my own hands are and how I can control them with my thought.
