Are you self-hosting? I use this plugin, which disables the new editor: https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-editor/

I am not self-hosting. If transitioning to self-hosting is a reasonable solution I am willing to consider it - it would have to either be simple to do, or have other benefits.

The original post contains information implying that Zvi is not self-hosting. “There might be a way to switch back to the old editor if I payed them the ransom money to upgrade my account to Business so I could use plugins, but …” The post is also itself marked as crossposted from the blog, and the URL is at the wordpress.com official hosting offering.

This might be the best one-sentence summary: "Zoom's security is at best sloppy, and malicious at worst."

And their reactions to past security-related issues have a definite "we don't really care" attitude, though that seems to have improved recently.

And I agree with your point that they are "focused on growth and features over hiring the best security/bughunting staff". That would actually seem to give further credence to their security being "... (read more)

I guess there's a difference between "sloppy" and "Zoom is malware", which is the official position of security twitter and some parts of the media as of today. As bad as they are, I'm afraid none of the examples of bugs in Bruce Schneier's article look remarkably different than what you can find reading the weekly security reports on hackerone.com.

Some info about how medical professionals use N-95 masks:

"Fit-testing" seems to be a requirement on an yearly basis. I'm not sure how rigorous or involved that is, but that seems to be an indication that it's not as simple as "civilians" just buying them and wearing them.

They're only intended to be used as one-time use masks. Apparently, healthcare workers are supposed to use a new one for every patient. Plus, they don't prevent viruses from infection via your eyes.

You can see the fit-testing on youtube. It's pretty involved and not something you can do at home--they put a hood over your head and spray in a bunch of super-sweet aerosol, and if you can taste it through the mask then the fit isn't good enough. On the other hand, they do that once a year, just to make sure that model is capable of fitting your face shape. The masks are supposed to be one-size-fits most. On a daily basis, the fit procedure is to put it on and blow out and see if you can feel any air escaping around your nose. This seems very achievable and likely to give a decent fit for most people.
