Curiously, what happens when I refresh LW (or navigate to a particular LW page like the comments page) and I get the "error encountered" page with those little witticisms? Is the site 'busy' or being modified or something else ...? Also, does everyone experience the same thing at the same moment or is it a local phenomenon?

This has happened twice in the past two days - generally there is some specific comment which is broken and causes pages which would display it to crash. My analysis of the previous and current pattern here.
To test this hypothesis, the Recent Comments should work as soon as the bad comment moves to a new page..
I predict that it will with confidence - it has in previous instances.
