Yes. Your responses to criticism are generally measured (even though perhaps you would have a right to be a bit less measured), and usually make you look better in terms of signaling. You maintain the high ground, and don't dig yourself into holes.

The attitude you have recently displayed in your posting history in response to criticism could serve as an example to Silas of an example of what to do (rather than people just telling him what not to do). Of course, your approach isn't the only way, but it contains elements that could be useful.
