Who is this "we" you speak of?
If your objection is that it's mere text and not a quote, well, allow me to add an attribution. I do think you're taking the whole quotes thread idea a little more seriously than it was ever intended to be taken.
No, I think that even if Russell or Jaynes had said it we (by which I mean, the Lesswrong community, or whatever that might mean) wouldn't consider it worthy of inclusion.
I don't want to see the quotes thread turn into the 'put Chesterton quotes on cat pictures' thread, let alone the 'put sub-standard quotes on non-cat pictures' thread
I deny that the quote is sub-standard. If you think it is, I suggest that you're not looking hard enough for the message.
