Hi folks,

I would like to invite you to another film screening at my home, this time featuring a proper projection screen and a new, quieter, brighter, and more focussed projector.

This time I would like your input regarding which film to see, here are a few I wouldn't mind (re)watching:

The Matrix (1999)
Her (2013)
Beyond Utopia (2024) - documentary about families who fled North Korea
Discordia (2004) - documentary about a 2002 riot at Concordia University due to a scheduled appearance by then-former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984)

While I'm wary of cluttering the list with too many options, if anyone has a different movie they'd really like to watch and that they think might be of interest to the community, please feel free to suggest it.

RSVP is advised. My condo can accommodate 10-12 people, I can try to squeeze in more if needed but cannot guarantee admission to anyone who has not RSVP'ed.

Some snacks will be provided but not a full meal.

Venue: 4243 Rue Clark near Rachel, Plateau Mont Royal.
Date & Time: Saturday, March 16th, 2024, 6:00 PM.

Jeremy.

PS: There will be a poll on the Montreal Rationalist Discord server for which movie to view. Please vote, and feel free to suggest movies!

Please also join the mailing list and our Discord server if you haven't already.

Hi everyone!

The discord poll has spoken, barring a last minute upset, we will be watching Discordia tomorrow!  (Hmm, did the fact that the poll happened on discord influence this at all?  Probably not.)

Note that the 6pm start time was set by me before the spring-ahead time change.  The sun sets a bit later now, so to minimize light leak from the windows and improve the viewing experience, I won't be starting the movie until 6:30pm.  Sorry for the last-minute modification, we can fill the intervening time with preliminary discussion about Israel/Palestine, or whatever.

Jeremy.
