Alzheimer's is a terrible thing to go through. I was thinking about how we can help Alzheimer's from the care side rather than the disease and cure side. I wonder if a sort of Notebook LMfor memories that would be built early on help someone maintain understanding and connection to the world. It seems much better than a chatbot. What else might be a very helpful tool?
I keep a journal. It’s my backup. Alzheimer’s is in my family, so it’s possible I’ll have it. I know in that case I won’t be able to read it, but hopefully I can ask questions.
Or the entity that will be the remnant of me, really.
Someone close to me is slipping into dementia currently, and unfortunately reading comprehension seems to be rapidly lost. He can read a group chat's history but can't follow who said what when well enough to understand what happened. So I think that anything dependent on reading would fail because of that 😞
