How are people either working in or training for the following roles thinking about the future of their career? I am in the intersection of these fields and they mostly constitute a high level of knowledge/preparation but a low regulatory barrier to entry. This worries me given rapidly increasing performance on SWE-Bench, RE-Bench, FrontierMath, etc.
a) Software engineers (Any subfield)
b) Research engineers (ML)
c) Mathematicians and physicists
I would appreciate comments with 1) which bucket(s) you fall under, 2) your current model of AI progress, 3) how you think about the future of your career considering #2.

Has anyone written/thought in depth about the impact that transformative AI will have on big cities such as NYC?
