I have seen that I do not have a predetermined structure or method for conducting post mortems. The majority of the time, I make a straightforward timeline, think about the things that may have been done differently, and jot down some advice for my future self. Nevertheless, there are occasions when I don't create a timeline; there are also times when I don't write anything down and instead just think about the errors I've committed.

I do this for initiatives at work as well as for ones in my personal life, just to provide some perspective. On the other hand, if I had spent the previous four months training for a ten-kilometer run, I would spend an hour thinking about what went well and what didn't go so well.

If you also engage in anything similar, what are some of the ways that you do it? How come? Where do you stand in relation to it?
