Thanks everyone for engaging with the planning!
Important updates:
1. 🥕 Potluck. Make sure to bring something to contribute to the potlusc and list it in the coordination sheet. Besides it being a Solstice celebration, this event is a dinner for 16-8 (!) people.
2. ☝️ Timeline. Doors will open at 5.45pm and we'll aim to have the official kick-off at 6pm. Make sure to arrive on time.
3. ✨ Celebration! If you have any celebratory/festive clothing that you were always looking for an occasion to wear, feel free to use this as an opportunity to bring it out. We value radical self-expression, whatever it means for you (from 3-piece suits to unicorn onesies).
I look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
📯 Toot toot! 📯
Three points of importance for y'all:
1. The time has come to vote for activities! If you voted before check whether anything new has been added.
2. Start thinking about the food you want to bring and list it here, it will be potluck style dinner. So, if you bring nothing we eat nothing :P
3. Has your probability of attending changed? Update it here!
If you're coming today feel free to bring props too! (e.g. if your favourite is an apple, bring an apple). A bit harder if your fav is a friend from the East Coast, but even then maybe you have a picture :D No worries if you don't have a prop, it would just make it a bit more interactive... inter-sensual?
Note the timeline has been updated!
Now to Nov 28. Add your ideas for activities.
Nov 29 - Dec 5. Voting for activities will take place. If you don't add / vote for activities you're implicitly agreeing with decisions of others!
By Dec 5:

Also, a reminder to vote for activities and share your food/ drink contributions for the potluck in the coordination sheet. Hope to see many of you on Friday! <3

Join the Bremen rationality crew in August to learn & practice a powerful approach to tackling disagreements!
What is this meetup about?
Double Crux is a method for making disagreements more productive by working together to uncover the core beliefs driving your differing views. Instead of debating to win, the goal is to understand each other’s reasoning and figure out what evidence might change your minds.
We’ll start by introducing the Double Crux technique, then pair up to practice with real disagreements. This is a great opportunity to refine your reasoning skills, engage in meaningful discussions, and gain new insights into your own beliefs.
Join us to test this experimental meet-up format at the Bremen rationality community!
What is it about? Bring a thought, a trick, or a curiosity—and share it in 5 minutes. This session will be a series of lightning talks, followed by small-group discussions.
What could be a topic of a lightning talk?
