Have you looked into Habitica? https://habitica.com/

It used to be called HabitRPG and is maybe the oldest approach of gamifying your life.

I love https://workona.com for a tab manager. It's not window centric but has so many great features.

Interesting. I'll definitely try that and hope that I'll follow through and not be lazy with the next book I read or listen to.

Writing down notes doesn't seem practical to me in most cases, but I'll take audio notes, which will be transcribed and summarized automagically and land in my knowledge management tool of choice, https://tana.inc

On Android, I'd recommend SmartAudioBook Player or Pocket Casts. - I just bought "How to actually Change your mind" and downloaded it via Pocket Casts.

The Audible app (for audio books) also has a useful feature for speeding things up.

If you're on a computer, you could just use the VLC player, it has these features as well. In that case I'd recommend defining hotkeys, for going faster or slower. Makes it easier to adapt the speed to the individual recording.
