I understand your viewpoint. I've always been a rationalist but being raised while being exposed to topics of taoism and buddhism always made me doubt that it's everything. Then, after understanding more and more of how the reality works but after looking 'mystic' and talking about it to people who did psychedelics I realised that they're saying the same things. Then I took some and even tho I still have doubt, I know the truth is what it is. The Gateway Experience by the CIA describes diving into 'subspace' or 'taking off this reality blanket' pretty nicely.
