It's frog season again. :-(
Is frog repellent a thing? Could keep them away from the stairwell.
Nothing, reliable or commercially sold that I found. Some homebrew ideas from ehow are here.
Perhaps frog attractant (mating scent or suchlike) put somewhere else to redirect the frogs? Downside: hard to wash off, so your person becomes very attractive to frogs.
Just a clueless guess.
