I'm hoping to get a semi-regular reading group going in the St. Paul area.  The basic format is: I post a couple medium-length articles, then we discuss those articles at the meetup for however long we feel like it!

The articles for the first such meetup are based around nutrition science controversies: stuff like "do we think ice cream is bad for us?  Why?  Do any of us really know anything?"

Article 1, from the Atlantic: https://web.archive.org/web/20230603175155mp_/https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2023/05/ice-cream-bad-for-you-health-study/673487/

Article 2, from Scott Alexander: https://slatestarcodex.com/2020/03/10/for-then-against-high-saturated-fat-diets/

We'll be meeting at Davanni's Pizza.  I'll be ordering vegetarian pizza, vegan salad, and non-vegetarian pizza for the group.

I'll send updates and schedule new such events via Discord (which I'm also interested in getting off the ground since Discord is, generally, just a very nice system for building a local community hub)
