As some of you are aware we make audio versions of LessWrong sequences.  We are looking to hire someone from the LessWrong community who has a good voice and is keen to record the remaining sequences.  There is quite a bit of material as I'm sure you are all aware.

Anybody who is interested please record yourself reading Politics is the Mind-Killer and send it to support@castify.co.  Please say what sort of recording device you used and keep the recording size rational.

Thanks to all of you who have been listening.

Not the best recording in the world, but I sent something in. I figure you'll mostly be choosing based on quality of voice rather than number of rehearsals before recording or recording equipment quality!

Ok, had a go on it as well. And what format do you want?

We can handle anything for the application but do most of our work with mp3 files.

Areyou still interested and are you interested in non american accents?

We have someone doing a trial run at the moment. Happy to hear more auditions, send one through.

Done!

(actually, done two days ago, but I somehow never hit 'comment' on this.)

I've sent in mine, as I assume the position is still unfilled one week later. It's by no means professional, but that's correctable by mere equipment.

I wish everyone who's submitted luck, and encourage any budding talents out there who remain on the fence to give it a try.

Are the sequence scripts going to be edited? Eliezers work is good for an amateur, but is obviously not professional grade writing, so some editing for fluidity might be helpful.

We do minor edits when needed but other than that the scripts are intact. While not perfect writing, the content is what matters and that comes across very well in the recordings.

The appropriate distinction may be between daily blog posts and polished books. Eliezer at that time could be reasonably described as a professional blog author.

After reading that article, I feel as though A Fable of Science and Politics should be a prerequisite, for all the times it was hyper linked.

I assume they're just looking for a short post to see how people's voices sound?
